    The printhead is great, but the ink only works in a brand new printer.

    Both the printhead and the ink cartridges were brand new in packaging. The printhead installed easily and worked as expected. However, the ink cartridges only work in printers that have not had any other starter ink cartridges put into them. In other words they only work for brand new printers, and if you have a brand new printer why would you be buying a printhead? As such, you won't be able to use the ink so buying just a printhead is the smart move.

    This printhead works great after clearing the "cheap" ink out.....

    Wishing I had purchased this in the first place, I had ordered one prior to this one. But I have learned a lesson about how serious HP is about using their Ink.

    Good item. New and OEM

    Wanted a new HP print head. Were many more that were not HP or were refurbished but for a few more dollars I got a new HP OEM. So far works great. Only drawback, right after I purchased the item the price dropped by about $8. Bummer.

    Good replacement for clogged HP Printhead

    Print head for HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. Efforts to clean original print head were not successful. It was necessary to install and reinstall this replacement a time or two to get the printer to accept the print head installation. The clean and auto alignment then went OK, but initial print of several sheets had almost no black, but black print and color are now OK. Since all HP print heads for this model are from China, these installation problems may by typical for any replacement. Happy with results, but would recommend running a color copy or test every couple of weeks to minimize chance for print head clogs.
